How can I change the video quality to HD 1080

I imported HD1080 material an edited a couple of test videos. It was always possible to export the edited video in the resolution 1080p.

Then I edited the real video with the same material, with music an effects and so on. Now I-Movie only offers the possibility to choose 720p when exporting the video to a file? Why? I did not change anything? I prooved again - the base material is 1080p. Is there a possibility to choose the export resolution of the film? I did not find where.

If you click on your project icon and click on "Info" above the viewer you will see in the middle above the viewer the resolution setting. This will determine the highest resolution you can share with. It should read 1080p HD, but I suspect it may read 720p. Is this the case?

Unfortunately it is not possible to change the resolution once a project has been started. I believe the resolution is determined by the first movie clip put in the project timeline. Is it possible that this was a 720p clip?

What you may be able to do is to start a new project putting a 1080p clip in the new timeline. Check that the project is set to 1080p and then in you old project Edit - Select all, Edit - Copy, double click on new project and paste it to the new one. The first clip can then be deleted. The project setting should remain at 1080p.
