Every time my phone is on charge it gives me electric shocks. At first I thought it was just me but it was really bad while I was on the phone earlier to the point I had to take it off charge! This cannot be normal? What can I do to stop this?

Could be a number of different things. You could be plugging it into an improperly grounded outlet (though I've seen that more often with iPads). There could be a problem with the cable or the charger. Or with the phone itself. Make an appointment at the Genius bar at your local Apple store. Take phone, cable and charger when you go.
I suggest that you check the wiring in your house. There seems to be a bad ground on that plug. Try another plug. Are you using the Apple provided charger?
I have another charger so will try and see if it's the charger! They're both apple chargers though. If it's not solved I will go to the Genius Bar in Sheffield and see what they say. Thank you.
Oh yeah and it's not the house, I'm in newly built student accommodation, and it's the same whether I'm at my student flat or when I go home :(
Then I would look at what Meg said. If you go to the Genius Bar, take everything with you so they can test it all. Got to be a short somewhere.
The iPhone and iPad chargers are only two prong so grounding is not an issue I would think.

And grounding IS an issue if the neutral side of the line is not grounded properly in the distribution panel (and nowhere eise).
My iPhone 5 keeps giving me electric shocks whilst on charge! How can I stop this?
