New contacts not saving in contact list??

Just recently, when trying to add new contacts, they are not saving in my contact list. However when they call or text me, my phone recognises the number. I've tried clicking "groups" and then "show all contacts" but this brings up all my email address contacts in the contact list as well. I do not want all the email lists in my contacts. Only phone numbers. Can someone please help.
