Q: how do you turn off running programs on the new iphone 5,

on my iphone 4 I would double click the start button and the running apps would come up then i would hold the program amd it turns off , that doesent work on iphone 5 , I have ALOT of programs running and it is prob why my battery life ient as long as I think it should be , HELP Please

iPhone 5, iOS 7, Im not sure if it is ios 7

iOS 7 How to Close Apps

Double Tap the Home Button... Then swipe the App (not the icon) Upwards... Tap the Home Button when finished.
