New Bootcamp partition is extremely slow

Hello!

MBP 13" 2.9GHz i7

8GB ram

I had a previous bootcamp partition when I was still running mountain lion that ran fairly smoothly, was able to play most of my steam games with modest settings. I had to delete that partition months ago and now that I have finally got around to reinstall windows everything is running extremely slowly. Skyrim can barely load on low settings much less play. Has anyone else ran into this issue? Or have any tips on what could be done?
