how to convert a word document to pdf without loosing information on header/footer?
Save As -> PDF. Or Print -> PDF -> Save to PDF. Either will include all the header and footer information, at least in Office 2011 and probably in Office 2008.

tried both already. the problem is that seems like a white border all around the document, so i loose information both on header and footer...
I tested both methods and they both work for me. It's possible you just have to adjust the document settings for the position of the header and footer in relation to the borders. This is getting more into how to use Office, so posting in Microsoft's forums will probably get you better assistance if you need to look further into that.
