Unable to use my camera in Google Hangouts on a 13" Macbook Air with OS 10.9.1

Since I Installed Mavericks I haven't been able to use my camera in Google Hangouts. Camera works perfect with Skype, Facetime, etc. Ideas?

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

Same here. Brand new 13" MacBook Air. 10.9.1. Internal camera not detected in either Google Hangout or Skype. Seemed like it worked for Skype the first time, but not since. I'm using an external Logitech camera via USB and it works fine for both. Anyone heard if Apple is working on a fix or reading these posts? I've seen a few threads on this topic with no obvious resolution.

Note: Make sure your FaceTime camera works fine, before the below steps.

  1. Open Google Chrome
  2. Start Google Hangouts
  3. Go to Hangout settings
  4. In the right side of the browser address bar, click on the 'camera icon' next to the Add to fav 'star' icon
  5. Select the option1, as in the attached screenshot.
  6. Close Hangouts and start FaceTime camera
  7. Start Google Hangouts again, now you can close the FaceTime camera.
