After installing OS X Mavericks on myMacBook Pro the Canon IRA 6055 printer gives me
"Open error. Switch the printer off and on, and then start the print job again.: 16013"
Any sugestions?

What printer driver did you install on the MacBook Pro?
Based on the error message it sounds like you have installed the Postscript driver but the iRADV6055 does not have the optional Postscript kit installed.
Use your install disk or go online to canon to reenter the correct drivers for your printer.
Many have been updated by Canon directly for 10.9. These will no doubt filter into OSX for automatic install by later versions.

Enter that IP address into a new tab in your web browser. If this IP address is correct then you should connect to the log in page for the iR ADV 6055, which will look similar to the image below.

Yes that did come up. I can print for that page. But not from my printer.

Okay. On closer inspection of your image - it is hidden by the pop-up window - I can see that you have used IPP for the protocol. This is your issue. The UFR2 driver does not support IPP. So add the printer again but select HP Jetdirect-Socket for the protocol. This should let you create the print queue and then print to the iR.
