    Read this

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5818

Get your money back , you will never activate the iPad without the original Apple id ,the iPad was probably stolen

Then you bought a very nice paperweight. There is no way to bypass the activation lock without the credentials for the account used to lock it.

Return it and get your money back. If that's not possible, turn it over to the police. It's probably stolen.

And google "Craigslist murders" before you decide to do that again. You're lucky all you got was ripped off.

No guy register it and take it, get the details of what happened, dont be afraid you have done nothing wrong, reading the support stuff is just to get us to do as it states. Make the owners answer to Apple. Really, open a case # and be on Apple daily, you will get answers !

Read my posts, dont listen to others, they dont have the time to help. If a person replies with no assistance ignore them. They just bored and believe what they are told, software , account iOS continues to change. Keep moving forward. It will work our or at least someone internally will have to explain the movement of the device and how it was received in your hands, you if on the up and up will get answers !

Apple will not release another customer's information to you.  That's their policy.

You said in another thread that you have a 'case' with Apple.  No, you don't.  Not one that is going to remove the Activation Lock, not unless you are the ORIGINAL purchaser and have a proof of purchase.

Stop lying.  Stop spreading misinformation.  You are wasting people's time, and Apple's time when you tell these people to call in.

Apple WILL NOT reveal private information to another user.  If they did so, they'd be opening themselves up to a lawsuit from the other person whose information they compromised.

One person that was too ignorant to verify the second-hand device they purchased was usable is not more important than safeguarding someone's personal information.

And of course  the "protestors " could just be the actual thief blustering trying to sort a stolen iPhone

Exactly.  Which is why Apple doesn't get involved.  All it takes is for a single time that Apple removes the Activation Lock on a stolen device for them to have an insane amount of negative publicity.

"Apple Helps iPhone Thieves Use Stolen iPhones!!!"

That would look so great on the news.
