I would like to increase the view of the e-mail I type, on the macbook pro with retina, without increasing the font that is being sent.

I had previously tried changing the screen resolution, which did make the words larger, but when I then looked at photos, I got a message that my computer was not optimized for rentina anymore. Since I bought it with retina display, I want to take advantage of it, but it seemms I cannot have it both ways.

Even when I have ths screen zoomed all the way, the typed view is still very small and zooming does not seem to do anything except make the screen larger, but not the words I type, remain in a small part of the zoomed screen, seemingly unchanged in size.
