On my iPad air apps which had a record feature to record a child's spoken words does not work when it worded on my last I pad how do apps like articulation station get the record featur back on my iPad air

? How can apps with a recording feature for a child,s speech which worked on my iPad previously be set to records peach on the I pad air when I select the record repeater on an app like articulation station no recording happens. I use this feature all the time as a speech therapist so would like to do this on my new I pad air. Help if you have managed to enavpble the record feature on an air?
