How do i get iMessage on an 11 inch macbook air?
We have had this Laptop since 2011 and all I can find is iChat?

It needs to be running Mountain Lion or Mavericks to have Messages. Back up your data and download Mavericks from the Mac App Store; if the computer's incompatible with Mavericks, it's also incompatible with Mountain Lion.
