Where do I access a proper fraction viewer, particularly keyboard shortcuts for ½ etc?

If I remember correctly the Character Map in MS Windows gives the key combinations for proper fractions and other characters. I was looking for something similar. I usually use a glyphs palette in InDesign but my 92 year old mother was asking me how to do it on her iMac.
Thanks sberman... I can go onto her Mac with LogMeIn and set her up in System>Keyboard>Text to automatically replace her 1/2 type fractions with proper fractions with "Replace/With"

I personally don't know LogMein, but it's terrific that does what you need.

Make a text edit file with the proper fractions so you can copy and paste that into the With column.
To find fractions and other symbols on the Mac... for example.
Hit the plus ➕ and type in 2/5....
High-light the With column with the cusor... Go the Menu... Edit... Special Charaters.

Go back to the Keyboard/Text window... You can double chick or drag ⅖ into the With column.
