How does location services come up with these places?

On my phone pull down menu, sometimes it would say it would take x amount of minute to go home but how does it know where home is? I have never specified my address on my phone.

Another scenrio is, I'm at home and it would tell me it would take x amout of minute to go to another address, which coincdently is my boyfriends addrss.

How does it come up with these locations? Does it somehow give me the top two location I go to?

According to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5594

Your iPhone will keep track of places you have recently been, as well as how often and when you visited them, in order to learn places that are significant to you.

I have seen some speculation that it will also use the contact record with the light gray "Me" at the right of the alphapetical listing of all contacts in Contacts as the home address and some speculation that it will deduce home and work based on time and frequency but I haven't seen anything from Apple that gives a definitive answer.
