I can't hear the metronome

This is my first time posting so forgive me if this is in the wrong place. I'm relatively new to logic but haven't had any issues with the metronome until now. I've used it on everything i've done in the past few months. At some point a few weeks ago it vanished. I've checked and re-checked the settings and cannot get it back. It's gone from all my projects. It's clearly selected to play while recording AND during playback but I can't hear the count-in or click at all now. Any thoughts?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

I too was having the same perplexing problem. I mean it certainly isn't as straightforward as GarageBand's similar feature, where you just intuitively select Metronome from a drop down menu and a check mark next to the menu item means it's on and no check mark means it isn't on.

I found two ways to make the metronome audible.

1. As a previous reply stated, click and hold down the mouse button on the Metronome icon in the "tools" menu (bar of icons immediately below the menu bar) and select "Metronome Settings". In the Metronome Settings window, check off "Audio Click" mid-way down in the Source sub-section..

2.) Go to the File menu and select "Project Settngs...", then in that pop out menu, select "Metronome..."
