I have an iphone 5. Recently, the microphone works intermittently or not at all for some programs (messaging, siri, notes) but fine for others like voice memo. It is almost as though the program does not have permission to use the microphone. I have shut down all apps, powered off but not change. Please help. Thank you

Hey, did you ever solve this issue? My microphone does not give off a chime when clicked for Siri or Messages, and does not pick up any sound at all. Oddly, the speaker phone function seems to work fine so this appears to be a software issue.
