You can sync Calendar and Contacts only if you sync each devices to a common service like Google Calendar and Contacts or Outlook.

Jan 9, 2014 10:39 AM in response to lllaassby warbucks64,I do not use iCloud for syncing my devices. It is all on my computer. I just re-sync'd my iPod, and all seems normal. Does iTunes recognize them as different devices? If so, I have even another reason to love you all at Apple!!
Will I run into problems syncing them both to the same iTunes?

If you want different synced media then configure iTunes to only sync checked items
