Current Version of iTunes hogging 100% of CPU - Windows XP SP3

Hello, I know this is a widely reported issue, along with two very popular solutions. I am using Windows XP Service Pack 3, and the current versions of iTunes (which I had to download off-site since iTumes download on here has issues). I have tried the "netsh winsock reset" solution which did not work for me. I also tried the "AppleMobileBackup.exe" and other things related to that where I shut it down on Task Manager. Neither solution worked, and this issue is getting annoying since iTunes up and quits on me while I convert albums and other things. What is a sure fire and reliable way to solve this issue? Please answer back.

Hello there Michael91,

Thanks for the question! It sounds like iTunes is having performance issues when you launch it. I have a couple of resources to help you troubleshoot what is happening here. First take a look at the following article named:

Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store

If this does not resolve the issue I would next try the steps in this article:

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
