Error 2005 when restoring a broken iphone

My brothers girlfriend threw her iphone 5s at her car window (dont ask). But anyways, she wanted me to restore it so she could sell it at this atm machine. It will give her three hundred dollars for it because their is no cracks on it at all, just slightly bent and the screen is completely ruined, all black, but lit up when turned on. It connects to itunes and i tried to restore it in dfu mode, I cant do it the regular way because find my iphone is on and i have no way of turning it off. but when it is done extracting software it gives me error 2005. I tried using different ports.

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.0.4

Hello Tetrasamurai

That error usually is related to issues with a USB connection. Check out the quoted section from the iTunes update and restore errors article below.

Check USB connections

If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.

Common errors: 13, 14, 1600-1629, 1643-1650, 2000-2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response”, and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.

To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:

  1. Use another USB cable.
  2. Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
  3. Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
  4. Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
  5. Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.

If you see your error after changing your USB connections, continue to the next section to troubleshoot your hardware.
