Ipod will not sync, but will charge/register on computer

Hi, I've seen and read multiple forums to try and fix my issue. Basically my ipod touch will charge to the computer and even register with it in the top right corner by saying what do you want to do with it, but the only options are basically importing videos/images. Ill give a list of everything I have done/have so you have an understanding.

Restarted computer

I'm on the latest version of Itunes

I have reinstalled Itunes twice along with a reset of my Ipod multiple times.

I have used all 4 of my usb ports

I have used 3 different usb cable's

I have Windows 8 I7 computer

My ipod is of the latest version 6.1.5 (I know that theirs IOS 7 but it doesn't let me download it)

The Ipod works perfectly and is not hurt in any way

Thats basically it, the oddest thing is that the Ipod registers on the computer but does not sync at all. Anyways if you have any ideas I would be grateful. Going on a long flight tomorrow and wold like some new music 🙂
