Spotlight search in User/Library with Mavericks

I use OS X 10.9.1 and discovered that Spotlight does not include User/Libary content.

As User/Library is now visible again in Mavericks I guess it makes no sense to use any sudo command.

See below all steps taken so far:

1) reboot in recovery mode and check both disk and repair disk permissions: done

2) reboot and add/delete hard disk to System Prefences/Spotlight/Library: re-endixing works fine: done

3) added additional search for System files in Command-F; done

Under 10.8 all above methods got me ALL files, but NOT with 10.9.1. Now what do I have to fix or is it normal behavior ?

Thanks for your kind help ! 🙂

P.S. Apps like Forklift or Find any File do find ALL my files (as they are Spotlight indepenant)

Apparently, as in your step 3), system files will show up in a Finder search, but not in Spotlight. Probably intended as a safety feature to prevent folks from mucking about in their system files. It's a safety feature with an IQ test: if you can figure out how to get Finder to search for system files, then you're probably OK to muck about.

I just googled it and couldn't find anything. Maybe someone out there knows how.
