About using password policies on OSX server 10.6.8. Does it update services with new passwd?

Hello,

i'm using OSX 10.6.8 server with apple clients binding to Open Directory as network users and mobile home users.

If we are using the password policies in server admin -> Open Directory the users can update password as configured in the policy.

But some issues appear:

1. But after changing the passwords users have to reconfigure their Maill, iCal, CardDAV, AFP services with their new password. after logging in.

The password change generates a lot of log-in errors of those services because the old password is still configured.

2. There another issue, the mobile home users cant login after the policy applies, they doesn't see the password change window. Why?

3. We have also a few people working on Linux systems. It would be nice that some can be exluded of the OD policy. is that possible?

(it was possible for me to configure an redhat5 network user logging with OD auth (LDAP offcource), if the policy kicks in i wasnt also able to configure a new password.)

Is the some trick to fix this?

* Users variate of 10.6 and 10.8 clients,

Xserve-OTHER, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Server edition
