I've found a number of old threads saying that it is not possible to sync "smart group" contacts to iPhone. Surely this is not still the case?!!! Please someone tell me that Apple have solved this one at last...?
Tho I do have an ancient iPhone 3Gs so perhaps that is the issue

You can setup contact groups using iCloud on a web browser (not phone).

I have created a Smart Group on my mac Contacts (ie for all UK-based contacts) and I'd like to sync this group ONLY with my iphone (so I don't have all 600+ contacts on there). I don't see any way to connect with Smart Groups on iCloud...?
