From the Safari menu bar, select
Bookmarks ▹ Show Bookmarks
or press the key combination option-command-B.
Select the bookmark folders you want to sort and drag them to the Desktop. A file folder will appear there with the name of each bookmark folder you dragged.
Delete the selected bookmark folders in the Safari window.
Drag the file folders you created on the Desktop into the Safari window.
Delete the file folders.

Feb 1, 2015 1:32 PM in response to Klaus1by gpdash,There is a perfectly good and free app that will alphabetize all of your bookmarks and folders in Safari in seconds. The program is called Safari Sort. It can be found at:www.safarisort.com. It is a Universal Mac application that has been successfully tested on OS X Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion, Lion and Snow Leopard. Hope this is helpful.
