Maximum iTunes Library Size?

Is there one? Or a noticeable performance gap when your library is large?

FYI: currently 64+ GB library. I've seen folks with bigger ones, but I'm wondering when/if performance is an issue. Currently importing songs already as mp3s (from HD, not a CD) takes a very LONG time to do.

Thanks

There is no maximum size as in a limit at which iTunes will no longer read files.
The only limit is how big your storage drives are.
As for performance, I have 130GB of music in my iTunes library and there is no significant dip in performance that I have notice...it takes a little bit longer for iTunes to open but we are talking a couple of seconds. There is no delay in it actually playing the tune once you select it and double click.

Dont worry about size...just enjoy your music...and consider getting an external hard drive to dedicate to music if like me you are a music nut...that way you have loads of storage and less strain on your main start up drive.

Enjoy
