Akai MPK25 working with Garageband but not with Mainstage 3

Hi guys,

My Akai MPK 25 works perfectly well with Garageband, but is not working with Mainstage 3. Actually, the knobs work with Mainstage, but the keys and pads do not. The firmware is up to date and I have reset to factory defaults. When inserting the usb I get a prompt from Mainstage to turn to preset 1, which I do, but nothing comes out of the keys. I see that the midi signal is reaching the computer, but no output from any device. This is on a brand new MBP Retina.

Deepsouthshore, how did you get your mpk25 to work well in garageband. I just got like, and found that electric piano seems to be the only sound where a lot of the mpk knobs work, and it works awesome: I'm able to adjust parameters that aren't represented on screen in the garageband preset for that sound. However, with any of the organs, nothing on the mpk seems to work besides the keys, not able to flip the Leslie switch or adjust drawbars or do anything to affect the sound. Any experience with this?

For further clarification, the signals from the keyboard do show up in the MIDI message monitor and Musical Typing does produce output.

Hi

Have you made sure that your MS Concert is correctly assigned to the right keyboard device, port and MIDI channel in layout mode?
