Is 10.6 Server Compatible with AD 2012?

We have XServes with 10.5 and 10.6 Server. These all subscribe to our Windows DC as do the Mac workstations.

Now the Windows server admins want to start upgrading the DCs to the 2012 version.

We will have time to explore this change in a test environment before going live with it.

My question to you is do you know of any issues that may arise using AD 2012 with 10.5 and 10.6 Server?

Do you have any links I could read further on the subject?

😎

I've done some Googling and found a thread on MacWindows.com where a guy was asking too.

On an isolated network with a 2012 Windows server, we were successful in binding a 10.6.8 Server to the DC without issue. SMB and AFP shares with AD group authentication were also successful. A 10.5.8 Mac client and 10.9.1 client also successfully bound to the AD 2012.

On the other side, a Windows 7 client was successful in mounting SMB shares from the 10.6.8 server using AD group authentication.

All indications are from testing -- AD 2012 does not pose any issues with Mac OS X 10.5.8 and above.

FYI
