SIM CARD PIN reset after backup from itunes?

Hello community!

I have the following problem:

my iphone was stolen on new years eve:

I blocked my number then and ordered a new one.

As soon as i got the new iphone i transferref my number.

Once transferred - i got home from work - connected the phone to my itunes

and it asked me if i wanted to restore from the back up.

So i did that but silly me forgot that i would have to UNLOCK the simcard again

once the phone started.

I forgot my new SIM PIN at the office but i thought i had

remembered it. So i gave it a try - two failed attempts.

Now before i wanted to risk the 3rd one.

Here is my question:

Did the backup also reset my SIM PIN of my SIM CARD?

Because this simcard was stolen together with my old phone.

Or is the new pin valid, that i got with the new sim card?

Id really appreciated the help!

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.4

I don't believe that a SIM PIN is part of the iPhone backup. Since that is written to the SIM card, and the iPhone does not write to the SIM, I'm guessing this is something that is unique to the carrier and the SIM. The new SIM PIN is what you should be using. Any other questions about the SIM PIN should be directed to your carrier.
