Help!!!! I upgraded from ios 4 to ios 7 and lost photos, text messages, bookmarks, contacts (was able to retrieve an old and unacceptable version), notes, etc.

I assume before you ugraded your IOS you backup your phone first right?

no backup, then sorry your data is gone.
Why? Did you fail to backup and sync your phone as you should have before updating? If so, there's nothing anyone can do about it.
no, i backed up to itunes. 3 times i received a msg saying the backup was interrupted or that an error had occurred.
i did back up to itunes. Tried 3 x to restore but was told an error occurred.
I guess your definition of "backed up" is a little bit different from mine, which includes a successful backup.
