Setting up classroom IPad

I got a new IPad for my classroom. Should I create a second Apple ID so I don't have to worry about my personal IPad apps showing up on my classroom IPad?

Hi ruthkaldor,

You can do it either way (one Apple ID or two). If you wanted to use just one Apple ID you can set a preference on your school iPad in Settings -> iTunes and App Store and turn off "Automatic Downloads" for Apps. This will allow you to manually download any of your previously purchased apps onto your school iPad so that you don't have to purchase it twice. As long as Automatic Downloads for Apps is turned off, you don't have to worry about apps automatically downloading on your classroom iPad. You have control.

Using two Apple IDs would keep everything separate (personal vs school), but you'd have to manage two accounts and use two email addresses and two passwords, and if you wanted to download an app on both iPads you'd have to manually download it twice... and if its a paid app you'd have to pay for it twice.

Pros and cons to both... your choice 🙂 Hope this answers your question!
