The MX-1000 is still king imo. This thing doesn't have a charging station and is $70. For that price grab a MX-1000.

Only thing I envy is the 360˚ mouse thing. Other than that the Mx-1000 + USB overdrive gives you way more functions. zehperiod!

Well I'm already on my second mighty mouse in a year, the first one got dissected because the scroll pea rollers got clogged, so I went back to my original one button mouse which has worked flawlessly for years.

I then bought a iMac as a gift and it came with a MM, I just couldn't bare to inflict them with this mouse with all it's complications and problems. So I took it and gave them my original one button mouse.

Now it's been a few months later and my MM is failing, the scroll pea is malfunctioning again. I clean it with rubbing alcohol, but it doesn't seem to work all the time.

I'm looking to replace this mouse with a third party option that will work reliably and consistently for years on end, like Apple mice used to be.

It's a shame, because I have a uniform Apple setup and now I have to use some off brand and inconsistent product.


By the way the scroll pea doesn't give you true diagonal scrolling, it can't, there is only a set of four rollers inside, not 8, so you only get traction in one direction at a time.

Also one has to lift their left finger off the mouse to do a right click, one can't do both a left click and a right click at the same time, or hold one down and let off the other like regular mice.

the mx-1000 is the key man, get it, you won't be sorry

The MM does not have enough functions for me, plus I don't care for the ergonomics of it. I'm thinking of getting one of these, plus it's $10.00 cheaper.

To be fair though, the MX1000 for ~$70 isn't Bluetooth, it's RF wireless. To get the Bluetooth version of the MX1000, you need to get the Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5000 Laser keyboard and mouse set.

I use the MX1000 Bluetooth mouse on my G5 at home. I use the keyboard that came in the set at work. I couldn't get the keyboard to pair with the G5 or my PowerBook unless I used the USB Bluetooth dongle instead of the build-in Bluetooth. The mouse works fine with the built-in Bluetooth module.
