Jan 10, 2014 7:10 PM in response to Israel7890by Kappy,If you get your own Apple ID, then you will need a new email address unless you have an email address that is different from your mom's. In that case you use your own email address as your Apple ID.
You will have to reconfigure everything to associate them with your new Apple ID. This also means any apps or music you purchased using your mom's Apple ID will have to be repurchased using your Apple ID.

Jan 10, 2014 7:15 PM in response to Israel7890by gail from maine,Well, it depends. Is your Mom also using that same Apple ID? Or is it your Apple ID, just with her email? If your Mom is using that as her Apple ID as well, then you don't want to change it.
However, if it is your own Apple ID, then you can go into Manage your Apple ID, and edit it (as long as it is not an @me or @mac email) to be your own email.
You would also change your Primary email, so yes, people would need to change it in their Contact information for you. This would be no different than if you stopped using any email account and got a new one.
