If I purchase an iPad Air in Australia with cellular data capability, will I be able to use the cellular service when i'm in Canada as well.

I am going to Canada and want to buy an iPad before i go to use predominantly when i'm over there. One of the essential things that I require is mobile data and so i would be buying a cellular version of the iPad Air. However, before i buy the iPad Air in Australia i want to be sure that I will be able to use the cellular function when I am in Canada as well.

Does anyone have any advice?
