Jan 21, 2016 10:38 AM in response to eldienby Mensi Sanhermelando,I had the same problem for months and in this post I heard that the problem could be the USB cord / charger. I tried a cheap one I bought for 2€ and it worked perfectly where the expensive original ones didn't!
Problem solved!
Good luck!

Apr 6, 2016 3:55 PM in response to eldienby bquimby1,It's the cable. Mine was doing the same thing until I switched to the cable that came with one of our iPhone 6s.

Jun 7, 2016 1:54 PM in response to eldienby dyl604,I have the same issue with my iPad Air (model # A1474) and my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015). I have tried 3 different Apple USB/Lightning cables and they all "beep" no matter which USB port I connect to. I plug it into an older model Macbook Pro and it works fine. I tried a friend's cable that came with his iPad Air 2 and it works fine with my newer MacBook Pro. Finally, I just plugged in a powered USB hub to my Macbook and connect through that when I need to connect my iPad to my Macbook and it connects fine, which is fine since I often need to have more than 2 USB connections, but I'm still bothered by the fact that I HAVE to connect this way if I want to connect my iPad, even if I don't need the extra USB ports at that time.

Jun 17, 2016 9:17 AM in response to dyl604by Senior Geezer,I have a MacBook Pro and have this problem occasionally. When it was non-stop today I tried different things, and the only thing that stopped it was to use the USB port on the right side of the laptop. Makes no logical sense but I'm currently using a 5' extension cable and a 3rd party lightning cable with a 90 degree connector and it is working fine. Using the left port with an out-of-the-box Apple cable doesn't work.

Aug 3, 2016 2:16 AM in response to eldienby Sciencelover,I have the exactly same problem with my iMac and iPad mini2. It worked 3 days ago but not any more. I read all the replies and tried everything. Nothing worked. As the last attempt, I tried my Macbook pro to connect to the iPad mini2. For the information, all three devices are about the same age (less than 1 year old). It worked perfectly. It seems iMac has a problem in its USB ports. This happens at least one more time when I tried to connect a CD driver using a USB port. So I strongly recommend to Apple to take this problem seriously and fix the bug. It is very annoying and time consuming.

This beeping appears to be related to the degree of charging of your device battery (ipad, iphone) when you plug it in to your mac. If you look at your ipad when it is beeping, the battery indicator is flashing. Unplug your device from your Mac, and plug it into a standard wall charger until battery level is > 50%. Then plug it back in to your Mac, and voila, no more beeping.
I have had this beeping issue with both my iPhone 6S and my iPad Air 2, and the charging solution solved the problem.
Hope this helps

Sep 6, 2016 2:55 AM in response to eldienby Aramil777,Happens to me too with all the cables except for one brand new one. It ONLY happens with a mac book air, no charging from wall sockets or even power banks makes this happen with THE SAME cables.
Moving the cable inside the laptop socket seems to have helped. No blowing no cleaning since the laptop is brand new. Cables are clean to.
Imho apple screwed up new macbook air's beacause their usb ports are not very stable, and the power delivered to them from the battery is absolutely minimal, to ensure charging, to prolong battery life, so even the slightest issues, specks of dirt, a cable bend millimeter too sharp, time deterioration, or even looking the wrong way at the cable makes it do the beeping. It is the result of obsessive search for efficiency, very poor coding which is a new nightmare in the last two years, when concerning hard drive drivers, powered external devices and some printers, and also lack of (if any) testing done by apple.
Some say it's a ploy to make us constantly buy new cables from apple but believe it's just the above.
So basically if we want to charge iPhones from our new MacBooks EVERYTHING has to be perfect and brand new or you can just give up and charge from a wall socket... OR charge power banks on laptops and then charge phones from them. I know it sounds absurd but hey... It's apple. No logic there. Incompatibility for all... Although incompatibility with their own devices is, I'm sure, accidental if a little over the line...
