How to prevent or stop iPhone restore

I've got a weird problem with iTunes.

As soon as I connect my iPhone, iTunes immediately restores my phone using the previous backup. Since does this every time I connect the phone, if I made any change in the distribution of the apps among the screens, delete some phone contacts, or delete appointments, the restore returns the phone to its previous state, as it was before I made all those movements. Is very annoying, 'cause if I changed the apps position or delete appointments, is because that's how I want my phone to be.

So my question is: There's a way to stop or prevent those continuous restores???

That's exactly my problem. iTunes restores the phone on its own without my permission.

Seems to be a very frequent problem, since I found lots of similar posts on iPhone forum. And thanks to that, there are lots of suggestions to fix it.

This is the one that solved my problem:

  1. Enable some sort of web filtering tool. Little Snitch on Mac, Zone Alert on Windows.
  2. Goto the 'Always Block URL' section and enter: appldnld.apple.com

This prevents iTunes from accessing the iOS restore file. Still allows access to the iTunes Store as well as the App Storem but your phone cannot be restored unless you really want to do so.
