Volume INCREDIBLY low through airplay speakers when volume BLASTING for all other inputs

First time question post!

I have a set up with the following:

- Apple tv;

- Sonos speakers set up via airplay;

- Video projector connected to Apple TV via HDMI.

Hers's my problem:

When I play video on the Apple TV with sound playing through the sonos system (again, set up through airplay). The volume is turned ALL the way up on my sonos system, which, for every other form of audio in put, makes it BLASTINGLY loud. However, when I play through the Apple TV, it's so low, I can only hear if I press my ear up right next to the speaker.

I have tried setting dolby digital to off, on, and auto. No difference.

I have tried the auto play volume setting on the sonos on and off. No difference.

Any ideas?

Volume INCREDIBLY low through airplay speakers when volume BLASTING for all other inputs.

Thanks to apple, my internal speakers in my DELL XPS Studio A1, were blown to ****. I can't even get replacement parts to repair, since the DELL is from 2009. These built in speakers were JBL speakers, HI end. I imported songs into Itunes, but the volume level adjustment would never allow me to hear the songs properly, because I used the Airplay option once before. So I raised the volume level up to 100%. I opened a website page via a brower, and a web video and audio ad popped up and almost destroyed my hearing, and indeed destroyed my internal speakers. Thanks a lot Apple, you worthless piles of ****!!!

Airplay is a can of worms as it covers many different ways of doing things - are you using Airplay to push video to AppleTV and sound to Sonos from itunes on Computer or ipad/iphone?....or are you playing the video directly from AppleTV menu systems under Computers icon or prior purchases in TV / Movies?

If you go into settings on AppleTv for Airplay and have the Sonos configured for sound output there (as opposed to in iTunes), is there a blue line for volume? Could have sworn there was the other day when testing something out, but I don't Airplay audio often.

I just bought my Apply TV today and my iPad mini a week ago. I experienced the same exact problem. But I fixed it and nearly destroyed my ears!

On my iPhone, I opened the remote app. At the bottom I noticed the four way arrows. When I tapped it, it brought me to the remote control via iPhone touch screen. Made it better, sine the remote was also controlling my MacBook Pro. I started playing with the functions and tapped the icon on the lower left. It brought me to the subtitles. I swiped up, to the right and down to the volume control for the airplay. Since my audio was low, I filled the bar with al blue. The levels on my speakers were set for music, but when I hit menu and went back to the movie... I dang near threw my iPad at the tv cause it was so loud!

So, I hope this is the fix you were looking for. Fixed it on the first day I had the Apple TV. Use an iPad, iPhone or iPod to get the the function. Still trying to get it with the Apple TV remote.
