My iPod has a mind of its own.

My iPod 4 gen. doesn't let me press a button i want half the time, and it presses buttons on its own as if it had a mind of its own. It started after I turned the assistive touch on, and it won't let me turn the assistive touch off. When I go into settings it could take forever to try to press the button I want to, like General Settings. It will start to press different buttons and change some settings on its own. I try to use my iPod normally and it doesn't work right anymore. It could rearange my apps, it could press buttons I don't want, when it clicks on music it changes songs rapidly. I can't press some of the apps sometimes. It all started doing this after I turned the assistive touch on. Its hard to unlock my iPod and just trying to do this could take a while sometimes, and it's hard to scroll down or up, and move screens left and right. My friends and I have so much trouble getting through the settings to turn the setting off, because we think that will work since it started acting up after it was turned on. I have tried restarting my iPod, or just turning it off one night to see what it does but it does the same thing as soon as it's on. It's been acting up for 2 days now. I've tried clearing my history and going back into settings to see if it will work properlly again, but it does the same thing.

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
