I just recently upgraded my Intel iMac to Mavericks and can no longer use my Canon CanonScan 8600F scanner. What can I do to enable this device with my iMac? Or, should I consider purchasing another compatible scanner?

Open Image Capture in your App Folder to see if it can see and use your scanner.

I went to Image Capture and nothing is listed.
Check at > Canon U.S.A. : Support & Drivers : CanoScan 8600F and see if they can suggest something.
I went to the site and at the bottom of the screen that shows my scanner there is nothing listed for any software as their system "sensed" that I had Mavericks installed. I'll plan on calling their support line on Monday but, I'm not all that positive that there will be a good answer. Thanks anyway . .
Open the Printer & Scanner prefPane, reset the printing system, and readd the scanner. If that doesn't do the trick, then contact Canon.
