Can I delete an App (iPhotos) under an old Apple ID and download iPhotos again using a new Apple ID without losing and photos?

Hi. Can I delete my old Apple ID from Apps that I have already downloaded and replace it with my new Apple ID without losing any information. I'm locked out of iPhotos when I uploaded Maverick and I know it is due to the Apple ID that i used several years ago.

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

Content and Apple IDs -

Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with another Apple ID with a new Apple ID.
