Safari & Facebook Loading Issues

Hi Everyone,


I have recently gotten a Macbook Pro 15 Late 2013 for Christmas. I am loving the experience. However, out of all the browsers I have enjoyed using Safari the best. It is very smooth and works well with the OS. However, I am having an issue with Facebook and Safari.


When I go to facebook the search bar is broken, when I type, the text I type goes behind "Search for people, places, and things" and does not give me any results. Also, when I scroll down the page the feed does not auto load. I have to click "show more stories". Also, if I go to a friends page... the page does not load past the first four stories because it doesn't auto load when I scroll.


I have fixed the issue by resetting Safari, however the issue only resolves for that one browsing session, if I exit Safari and reopen, Facebook will be broken again and I will have to reset Safari once again.


Does anyone know what could be causing this issue, it has been driving me nuts. I almost have thought about going to Firefox or Chrome, but I like the integration with all my iOS devices and my Macbook.


I hope you can help me out here, I have posted elsewhere and have not found a solution.

I don't use Facebook and I have no way of knowing what is or is not normal for the site. However, see below.


From the Safari menu bar, select

Safari â–¹ Preferences â–¹ Extensions

Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.


If you wish, you may be able to salvage the errant extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its settings will revert to their defaults. If the extension still causes a problem, remove it permanently or refer to its developer for support.

lI have almost the exact same problem as Confuzzeled. The only difference is I don't have problem with search bar. And it is not just FB. I have problems with 9gag as well.


Problems on FB:

  • it doesn't auto load: always have to click More stories
  • on my or my friends page it never loads more than first few stories


Problems on 9gag

  • it doesn't auto load: you have to click on that "loading wheel" and then you get new page with pictures
  • it doesn't play gif images on main site: if you click on the title of gif image it opens new tab and plays gif without any problems
  • response to the hotkeys is terribly slow


I don't have any extensions installed and have also tried turning them off in preferences ... all to no avail.


The funny thing about this problems is, that sometimes (like one time out of a hundred) they work, but have no idea.


I would really appreciate if anyone could solve this problem.
