I have a ipod touch 16gz. I can not download the ios.5 or 6 or 7 on my ipod? How do I do this.

If it has only a front camera it is a 5G. Can go to iOS 7
If it has both from and back cameras it is a 4G, Can go to iOS 6.1.5
If no camera it is either a 2G. Can go to 4.2.1, or
A 1G that can go to iOS 3.1.3

It is a 1G, Can only go to 3.1.3
To get working
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
That would be a 1st generation. As indicated above, it can be upgraded to iOS 3.1.3. To get there you will need to purchase the upgrade as indicated below.

No, As I said in my previous reply, the 1G can only go as high as iOS 3.1.3
To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.
