How can I make Garage band start where the playhead is located?

Whenever I click play Garageband goes back to the beginning of my piece when I'm trying to play what I just edited. Isn't there some way to make it start from where I have placed the playhead?

If I press the space bar it goes back to the beginning, too. I spend most of my time moving back and forth to where I was instead of actually being able to edit a piece. It's so very frustrating! I wonder what the advantage is of always having to scroll back to where one was instead of starting from where we left the playhead? Any ideas?
