Q: How do I stop prompts about failing to open MobileMe?

Running 10.6.8 with no glitches since moving out of MobileMe.  Suddenly this last week I start getting prompts about login failing on MobileMe?  The MobileMe icon is still on my preferences under "Internet & Wireless."  How do i get rid of this / stop the prompts?

Go to System Preferences>MobileMe. If you are still logged in go through the various panes and make sure that you have stopped syncing and iDisk syncing, then sign out.

 

If you find you can't do this, or as an additional process, go to (user)/Library/Preferences/ByHost and delete all .plist files beginning with com.apple.DotMac and com.apple.idisk, then reboot.
