i bought an used iphone off of someone and when i went to activate it it was under someone elses icloud account. is there a way that i can get the phone off of the account without a username or password?

i bought a used iphone 4 off of the internet and when i went to set it up it said that the phone was still under someone elses account. i contacted the person i bought it off of and asked him to take it off of his account but he said that it wasent his acount and he couldnt take it off. is there any way that i can get it off without a apple ID and password?

So he had a spare iPhone and doesn't recongize the email address; well sorry sir but you have a very pretty brick....ask the seller for your money back as that phone is useful to neither him or you. It seems he may have just been trying to push a brick onto someone else and make it their problem.

Next time verify the phone is completley wiped out before handing over money. At least be happy you didn't spend one thousand dollars to buy two pieces of fruit.
