Watching a show on Amazon Prime. Cannot activate the cc option via settings or using their icon in Lowe left corner of page. Any suggestions?

From the iPad User Guide:
Prefer accessible subtitles and closed captions for the hard of hearing in the list of available subtitles and captions. Turn on Settings > General > Accessibility > Subtitles & Captioning > Closed Captions + SDH. This also turns on subtitles and captions in the Videos app.

Our local news has an app that they advertize as having subtitles. They mention turning them on the way that was suggested above and the subtitles work in the news app when watching the live newscast or other videos in the app.
The default setting in the Amazon instant video app is to have subtitles off. I simply turned them on in the app and they worked.
Would that affect the Amazon video app?
Don't know ... but it couldn't hurt.
I have personally never used the Amazon Video app.
