Using HDMI out slows down macbook pro internet connection?

Hi,

I'm using a MacBook Pro Retina, 13-inch, Early 2013, and upon using the HDMI out cable to my plasma tv screen (using also HDMI out for the sound) it massively slows down the internet connection, making buffering movies almost impossible. Has anyone else experienced this?

This should be unlikely because the video out is a completely separate subsystem than the Internet connection. But there could be some other interaction that isn't directly about this.

I have also experienced my internet connection slowing down when I use and HDMI output to my TV. It eventually ceases to maintain any connection whatsoever.

I am using a MBP Retina 2014
