You mean specifically 'Find My iPhone' rather than the whole of iCloud? You can only locate your phone if you had set up 'Find My iPhone' on it prior to losing it, and it has to be on, not wiped, and able to connect to a network.

yes,i have installed the application but my phone is offline unfortunately and i couldn't trace it.

it has to be online to be able to transmit the information, so I'm afraid there is nothing you can do.
