Why my Apogee product (DUET) isn't compatible with Mac OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)?

I have just bought an iMac (Processor 3.5 GHz intel Core i7) with OS X 10.9.1 and installed Logic Pro X for enhancing my home studio potential but it doesn't work with both Apogee Duet and Zoom R16 so now I cannot record any real instrument now!

I have already tried to install the most updated driver for the DUET FireWire without success.

I have also tried to contact Zoom Japan customer service but haven't got any feedback yet.

Does anybody know how to sort those issues out?

Thanks

ciao Mauro

Hi Mike,

Yes, you are right, I have the older DUET version using Firewire, so I've tried to sort this issue out using an Apple Thurnderbolt/Firewire adapter.

Is your Duet working well with both OS X 10.9.1 and Logic?

I have updated the driver (http://www.apogeedigital.com/drivers/DUET/Duet_OSX10.9.dmg) but still Duet is not working with both Logic Pro X and Logic.

Thanks

Apogee have stated that their OS X 10.9 driver for the older Firewire Duet is currently not compatible with OS X 10.9.1 and they are working on a new driver to correct this issue.

Their advice currently is not to update to 10.9.1...... until new drivers are released.

Tip: Never update anything unless you know for sure there are compatible drivers for your audio interface... especially when using audio devices that are known to have had such issues in the past... with previous OS X updates!
