Q: How can I get the Apple Seed invitation code?

I would like to be a tester of Apple products. Can anyone tell me how to be a part of them?

Answer lots of questions (correctly) on the forums. Perhaps that will get you noticed.

I would be somewhat interested in prerelease versions of iOS. I am not really interested in prerelease versions of OS X, since the last couple of releases have not run very well on machines with spinning hard disks. It appears Apple is (prematurely) not optimizing OS X for machines with spindle hard disks.

My 2011 MacBook Air with an i5 processor, 4 GB of RAM, and an SSD runs Yosemite very well, but my 2011 iMac with an i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a 1 TB standard hard disk does not. On the other hand, Windows 8/10 still runs well on less advanced hardware.

Have you read this thread at all? Apple asks you. They don't take applications. No one in this thread works for Apple. Should they open up beta testing to people who want to apply, it will no doubt be very big news.

Yes I have. All 18 posts. I understand Apple does not accept applications to beta test their software. I understand Microsoft is far less draconian in releasing prerelease software.

I also (now) understand that Apple's forum software is not optimized to allow Google Chrome to save user passwords. How annoying!

Chrome has always saved my forum log ins just fine. However, the forum will log you out after a period of inactivity regardless of the browser you're using.

Since you are only interested in iOS testing only - you do realize that once you install a beta iOS, there is no way of going back? If the beta bricks your iDevice, you will have a brick until the public version is released. My recommendation to anyone interested:

Unless you have two iPhones or iPads, be very cautious.

In the meantime, sign up as an iOS developer.

You are not talking to Apple developers here.

Submit your feedback directly to Apple using the appropriate link on the Feedback page:

Apple hardware products are tested in-house and the entire process is secret.

You can learn to use Apple products by checking them out in store or buying one.

No one here works for Apple. None of us could answer that question. Anyone who does know is most likely working under a strict non-disclosure agreement and can't tell you, either.
