Deleted iTunes Play lists

I recently deleted some iTunes play lists from an Ipad and have now found out those same playlist seem to missing from my iTunes library play lists. Does removing aplay list from a single device delete them from your library if the device synched? I'm not sure how this happend but the play listed were literally hundreds of song long made from a nhuge library. They still exist on my other devices. If I synch them will they disapaer from them as well? Can I restore the play lists from one of them?
